Sudurpashchim Province Police Successfully Conducts Police Hapkido Defensive Training

The Police Hapkido Defensive Training Program, organized by the Sudurpashchim Province Police Office, Dhangadhi, Kailali, was successfully conducted. The program was held under the distinguished presence of Sudurpashchim Province Police Chief, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Om Bahadur Rana.

The training program was organized with the objective of enhancing morale, developing self-defense skills, and strengthening professional competence and operational effectiveness among police personnel. A total of 264 police personnel from various offices under Sudurpashchim Province participated in the program.

During the training, participants received structured practical training in Self-Defense, Arrest Techniques, and Control Tactics. The main objective of the program was to develop the ability to operate safely and effectively in risk-prone situations during daily police duties.

The training was led by Kali Bahadur Gharti Magar, President of the Nepal Hapkido Association and an international instructor. In addition, Chief Instructor Prabin Gurung, Senior Instructor Rajendra Madai, and Instructor Ramesh Hamjalai Magar provided practical training to the participants. The instructors also delivered detailed guidance on the necessity, utility, and practical application of Hapkido training in police work.

The program was attended by Superintendent of Police (SP) Gautam Mishra, SP Birendra Thapa, and other senior police officers and personnel. Participants stated that the active presence and encouragement of senior officials significantly contributed to the program’s success.

During the closing ceremony, DIG Om Bahadur Rana emphasized the importance of physical fitness, self-defense skills, and professional competence in police service. He stated that such training programs make police personnel disciplined, capable, and confident, and he assured that similar practical training will continue in the future.

Similarly,Kali Bahadur Gharti Magar, President of the Nepal Hapkido Association, said, Physical readiness and self-defense skills are essential for police service. Hapkido training not only equips police personnel with self-defense capabilities but also enhances their morale and operational efficiency. Such training helps to face risk-prone situations during daily duties safely and effectively. We are committed to continuing these programs to further elevate the standard of police service.

Participants of the training reported that Hapkido training increased their confidence in handling challenges during daily duties. They expressed that such training contributes significantly to improving the overall quality of police service.

The Sudurpashchim Province Police Office has stated that it will continue to organize various professional and skill-based training programs to further enhance the capacity of police personnel.
